Engineering disciplines and career pathways
At MEX Engineering Group, we support Australian manufacturing through innovative electrical, mechanical, and engineering solutions that improve reliability, productivity, and safety for our clients. We offer dynamic career pathways across multiple technical disciplines:
Industrial Electrical
Master the design, construction, and fault-finding of complex LV power, MCC control panels, and automation hardware.
Mechanical Fitting
Execute precision mechanical integrations, machinery maintenance, and conveyor upgrades across high-speed manufacturing environments.
Mechatronics and Automation
Work with the latest PLC, HMI, and SCADA architectures to modernise legacy equipment and optimise production throughput.
Additive Manufacturing
Utilise industrial composite 3D printing in our Centre of Excellence to reverse-engineer and produce rapid replacement parts.
Machine Safety (CMSE®)
Train alongside our in-house TÜV Nord Certified Machinery Safety Experts to master AS/NZS 4024 compliance, risk assessments, and hazardous energy isolation.
Delivered by Best-in-Class Technicians for 20 Years
For over 20 years, MEX Engineering Group has operated as the critical infrastructure partner for some of Australia’s most demanding manufacturing and processing environments. We deliver every project under strict HSEQ risk discipline, ensuring safe, compliant, and right-first-time engineering execution.
Unlike other engineering firms who rely on transient labour, we invest heavily in our dedicated in-house training centre to develop the most skilled industrial electricians and mechanical fitters in the industry. This guarantees stable site teams, deep institutional memory, and unparalleled workmanship for your plant. MEX Engineering Group is a CMSE® (Certified Machinery Safety Expert – TÜV NORD) and houses the NSW Centre of Excellence for Additive Manufacturing.

A culture built on “People Over Profit”
The manufacturing industry is facing a severe shortage of qualified industrial tradespeople. Many companies rely on transient contractors, offering little job security or professional development.
What truly sets MEX Engineering Group apart is our people and our culture. We believe in a “One Team, One Goal” mindset, where collaboration and accountability drive the best outcomes. Our core value, Home Safe Always, underpins everything we do. If you enjoy solving problems, adding value, and want to be part of a team that is passionate about supporting Australian industry, we provide the ultimate foundation for your career.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you hire apprentices?
Yes. We are always on the lookout for driven individuals who want to build a long-term career in industrial engineering. Through our Training Centre, you will receive unparalleled mentorship, hands-on experience in complex manufacturing environments, and the opportunity to work alongside industry experts.
What is the culture like at MEX Engineering Group?
Our culture is defined by our core values: “People Over Profit,” “Home Safe Always,” and “Quality Over Quantity”. We are an incredibly close-knit team that operates with a “One Team, One Goal” mindset. We prioritise collaboration, self-development, and taking pride in solving complex problems for Australian industry.
Why is the MEX Engineering Group Training Centre different from standard TAFE courses?
Standard TAFE electrical courses are heavily geared toward domestic and commercial wiring. They do not teach the highly specialised skills required for industrial automation, high-speed manufacturing, or complex PLC fault-finding. Our in-house Training Centre specifically bridges this gap, creating elite industrial tradespeople who understand production realities.
Why is system integration critical for modern manufacturing?
System integration connects isolated machinery, electrical controls, and data communications into a single, cohesive line. This prevents operational bottlenecks, reduces manual handling errors, and ensures that mechanical and electrical components operate in perfect synchronisation to maximise throughput.
Are your engineering services compliant with Australian Standards?
Absolutely. We operate under rigorous HSEQ frameworks and certifications. Our engineering designs strictly adhere to AS/NZS 3000 wiring rules and are supported by in-house TÜV Nord-certified CMSE (Certified Machinery Safety Experts).
