End-to-end electrical installation solutions
Most generalist engineering service providers treat electrical installation as a fragmented process. One firm designs the system off-site, while an outsourced, transient workforce is brought in to pull the cables and wire the panels. This disjointed approach leads to unsafe workarounds, communication faults, and increased risks of unpredictable downtime.
MEX Engineering Group provides a complete, full-stack installation solution. By housing industrial electricians, mechanical fitters, and CMSE® engineers under one roof, we execute your electrical installations with laser-like accuracy. From AS/NZS 3000 compliant Low Voltage (LV) power distribution and Motor Control Centre (MCC) wiring to the final commissioning of safety PLCs, we engineer strategic, long-term installations that maximise your asset lifecycles.

High-impact electrical installation outcomes
A breakdown of our primary installation disciplines and their direct operational value to your plant.
| Installation discipline | Technical capability | Primary operational outcome |
| Low Voltage (LV) power distribution | AS/NZS 3000 and AS/NZS 3008 compliant design and construction of submains, cable support systems, and power routing. | Ensures robust, safe power distribution that survives heavy industrial loads and regulatory audits. |
| Control panel & MCC wiring | End-to-end installation and field wiring of custom Motor Control Centres and automation panels. | Optimises electrical performance and reduces severe thermal wear on drive systems from day one. |
| Control system automation | Hardware and software integration for PLCs, HMIs, and variable speed drives (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron). | Connects isolated machinery into a single, cohesive, high-performance production line. |
| Safety network integration | Seamless wiring of safety PLCs, light curtains, and presence detection by our CMSE® experts. | Eliminates danger to operators and guarantees strict compliance with AS/NZS 4024. |
| Production coverage | Supplying embedded industrial electricians for ongoing maintenance after the installation goes live. | Protects continuous production output without straining your internal engineering teams. |

Trusted by Australia’s Leading Manufacturers
MEX Engineering Group provides embedded site teams and engineering services to some of the country’s largest production facilities. We maintain critical infrastructure for industry leaders across FMCG, food and beverage, and high-speed packaging, including Tooheys, CHEP, Ullrich Aluminium, Goodman Fielder, and BlueScope Steel.
From electrical design to boots-on-the-ground execution
We eliminate contractor inconsistency by managing the entire lifecycle of your plant’s electrical infrastructure. Our process begins with robust, AS/NZS 3000 compliant electrical design, Motor Control Centre (MCC) panel specification, and control system architecture. Instead of handing the project off to third-party generalists, we deploy our own in-house trained industrial electricians to execute the installation.
This ensures that the complex engineering strategy is perfectly translated into a safe, high-performance reality on your factory floor. We secure this investment by providing comprehensive as-built drawings, rigorous compliance validation, and ongoing fractional maintenance coverage to protect your vital uptime.
Electrical installation at Australian Brewery
Our Australian brewery client operates a state-of-the-art beverage manufacturing facility requiring continuous, high-volume fluid routing and packaging capabilities. MEX Engineering Group was engaged to execute a comprehensive electrical installation for their major cellar expansion and new keg line.
Our in-house engineering team took complete control of the installation process. We installed the submains and mains to the new Distribution Board, physically wired the new Motor Control Centre (MCC), and integrated ASI i/O to the valve manifolds in the field. By managing the Profi-net communications between panels and completing the electrical installation for the new keg line internally, we eliminated third-party delays and delivered a high-performance system that significantly expanded their brewing throughput.
Reliable electrical installation framework
We follow a structured 6-step framework to embed our installation expertise safely inside your facility:
Site & load assessment
Identifying spatial constraints, existing Low Voltage infrastructure capacity, and immediate SafeWork compliance requirements.
Electrical system design
Translating identified needs into an engineered design, specifying the required cable sizes, routing, and control system architecture.
Physical electrical integration
Deploying our in-house tradespeople to physically place cable trays, pull cables, and wire the machinery to AS/NZS 3000 standards.
Turnkey commissioning
Executing PLC, SCADA, and electrical testing securely during planned shutdown windows to protect your throughput.
Electrical safety verification
Conducting functional checks by our CMSE® experts to confirm all installed safety measures achieve the required performance levels.
Ongoing production coverage
Supplying embedded fractional maintenance teams to ensure the newly installed systems remain fully operational and compliant over time.

Adapting to high-speed manufacturing demands
Australian manufacturing facilities face immense pressure to increase throughput, automate processes, and run 24/7 rosters. Bringing new high-speed machinery into your facility by juggling separate mechanical, electrical, and safety companies is a massive risk to your business.
Fragmented communication leads to non-compliant wiring, extended shutdowns, and blown budgets. Engaging a single, authoritative engineering service provider for full-stack electrical installations is the only reliable way to safely transition to high-speed automation while protecting your critical uptime and preventing the massive cost of halted production.

Electrical installation solutions by industry

| Brewing & distilling | Complex fluid routing, valve manifolds, and continuous 24/7 operational requirements. | Custom Motor Control Centres (MCCs), field wiring, and dedicated production coverage. |
| Logistics & warehousing | Material bottlenecks from automated guided vehicles and fast-moving conveyors. | End-to-end power distribution and cohesive presence-detection safety networks. |
| Heavy metal processing | Extreme loads, heavy vibration, and severe crushing hazards during operation. | Heavy industrial power design, RPEQ sign-off, and CMSE-backed safety PLC wiring. |
Frequently Asked Questions
Why should we use an engineering service provider instead of a generalist electrician?
Generalist electrical firms often lack the granular, hands-on expertise required for complex instrumentation and control systems in heavy industry. They may only pull cables, forcing you to source separate automation engineers to program the PLCs. Through our in-house engineering capability, MEX Engineering Group executes the Low Voltage wiring, custom MCC fabrication, PLC programming, and final CMSE® safety validation with our own licensed tradespeople.
Will the electrical installation disrupt our daily production schedule?
We understand that unplanned downtime is an unacceptable cost to your business. Our project managers strategically align complex cable pulling, Low Voltage wiring, and control system validations precisely with your narrow planned shutdown or changeover windows, ensuring your plant maintains continuous throughput.
Do you supply maintenance support after the installation is complete?
Yes. When new automation is introduced or production demands surge, we supply embedded, highly skilled technicians to provide fractional contract maintenance. This ensures your newly installed electrical systems remain fully supported during peak 24/7 rosters without the overhead of hiring full-time staff.
What is Fractional Contract Maintenance?
Fractional maintenance means we supply embedded, highly skilled industrial electricians and mechanical fitters to your site for a set number of hours or days per week. This acts as your dedicated maintenance department, building institutional memory of your assets without the overhead of hiring full-time, in-house technical staff.
How does your 24/7 Breakdown Availability work?
Unlike generalist engineering firms who quote fast but mobilise slowly, MEX Engineering Group operates a true 24 hour, 7 day breakdown infrastructure. We provide rapid, on-call mechanical and electrical response capabilities designed specifically to shorten recovery time and restore production when critical infrastructure fails.
Are your engineering services compliant with Australian Standards?
Absolutely. We operate under rigorous HSEQ frameworks, and international certifications. Our engineering designs strictly adhere to AS/NZS 3000 wiring rules and are supported by in-house TÜV Nord-certified CMSE (Certified Machinery Safety Experts).
